Latest OneUi 5 adds Unlimited Cloud Storage to Galaxy S23 Series users
Samsung Galaxy S23 series users got an unlimited cloud backup feature. This is a new feature added to the Galaxy S23 series through an OneUi 5 OTA update. At first, this feature was introduced to Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5. Now this feature has been made available to the Galaxy S23 series.
This new unlimited cloud backup feature is added to the Reset menu inside the settings option. Previously, in the reset menu, there was 3 option that includes Reset all settings, Reset Network settings, Reset Accessibility settings, and Factory reset option.
Now after the latest update of OneUi 5, Samsung has added 2 more options to the Reset option. The first one is Temporary cloud backup and the second one is External storage backup.
The temporary cloud backup is the feature that allows users to backup unlimited data to a Samsung server for up to 30 days. The good part is you can backup a wide range of data including
- Calls and Contacts
- Messages
- Apps
- Galaxy Wearable
- Home Screen
- Settings
- Images
- Videos
- Audio
- Documents and Files
This backup will be done through Samsung Smart Switch app. Users will be able to restore backed up data within 30 days after backup.
This feature is spotted on Galaxy S23 series and Galaxy Z Fold and Flip 5 series devices. It’s possible that Samsung adds this feature to other galaxy devices. The upcoming OneUi 6 with Android 14 will also include this feature. It’s also expected that the upcoming Galaxy S24 series will come with this feature.
