Sony Xperia 1 VI to introduce a revolutionary zoom lens
Sony is gearing up to launch its latest flagship, the Sony Xperia 1 VI, on May 17, 2024. Promotional materials of the device have leaked ahead of the launch, revealing detailed specifications that are surprising.
Specifications, Display:
Sony has departed from its traditional 4K 21:9 aspect ratio display, which was one of their key selling points, and opted for a more conventional 2K 19.5:9 aspect ratio display. The screen also supports a 120Hz high refresh rate, with 1.5x higher brightness and is equipped with Bravia HDR remaster technology.
Camera:
The Xperia 1 VI features a 24mm 48MP main camera with an ExmorT for Mobile sensor, which also features 2x high-quality zoom and a 16mm ultra-wide lens. But the biggest update to its camera compared to its predecessor is on the periscope telephoto, with a revolutionary 85-170mm variable optical zoom lens (Up to 7X). This will surely change the landscape of smartphone photography. They have also introduced a new camera app UI.
Processor and Battery:
As for the chipset, the phone will come equipped with the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, ensuring fast and smooth performance. Powering the device is a 5000mAh battery. They have also added a vapor chamber for improved thermals.
Other features:
The Sony Xperia 1 VI will be available in three colors: Khaki Green, Black, and Titanium. Some other notable features include Hi-Res Audio, Hi-Res Audio Wireless, 360 Reality Audio, LDAC, and DSEE Ultimate. It also retains the 3.5mm audio jack, which is very rare nowadays.
