Sony launched the Xperia 5 V with dual camera and snapdragon 8 Gen 2
Today, Sony introduced the newest addition to the Xperia 5 series, the Xperia 5 Mark V. The Xperia 5 series, known for its compact design, compared its bigger brother the Xperia 1 series, which debuted in May this year. This new Xperia model boasts an upgraded camera system and improved speaker system.
The design of the Sony Xperia 5 V is the same as its predecessor with a boxy metal and glass construction. It features a 6.1 inch FHD+ OLED display with a 21:9 tall aspect ratio. The display supports a fast 120Hz refresh rate ensuring smooth user experience.
The new camera system on the Xperia 5 V is a massive upgrade compared to its predecessor. It features the 1/1.35 inch 52MP IMX888 sensor which is the same sensor that is used on the more premium Xperia 1 V. It also features a 12MP 1/2.5 inch ultrawide sensor. Even though the telephoto camera was removed this year, Sony says the high resolution main sensor can do 2X lossless digital zoom. The selfie camera is 12MP.
Under the hood the Xperia 5 V features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. The phone comes with android 13 out of the box. Two unique features of the phone is the inclusion of a headphone jack and micro SD card slot which is rare for a flagship smartphone.
