Finally Xiaomi launched the successor of Redmi 10C on 31 December 2022. Redmi 10C was a successful product from Xiaomi that was released back in March 2022. It was a budget value for a money phone. So people were expecting to see the Redmi 11C as the successor of the Redmi 10C.
Xiaomi launched the Redmi 12C as its successor of Redmi 10C. Though we don’t know what naming scheme they are continuing with, the only thing that matters is the specifications and pricing ratio. Let’s find out if there is any improvement next to the Redmi 10C.
The Redmi 12C offers a Helio G85 SOC with LPDDR4X RAM and eMMC 5.1 storage solutions. There are 3 storage variants with different price tags. We will mention them in this article.
In Redmi 10C we got a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 SoC. If we compare it with the Mediately Helio G85 we don’t see any improvement of mejor difference. Though the Helio G85 has a slightly better gaming performance over the Snapdragon 680 the overall improvement is negligible. Some people are saying it is a downgrade over 10C.
There is a 6.71″ HD+ LCD display. There is no improvement. Exactly the same display configuration as Redmi 10C.
Redmi 12C comes with a 5000mAh battery with 10W charger. It’s a mentionable downgrade over the Redmi 10C where Xiaomi offered 18W fast charging. Another downgrade of Redmi 12C is that it offers a micro USB port over the Type-C port of Redmi 10C.
There is a 50 MP dual rear camera setup. There is a 5MP selfie camera. The camera specs are the exact same as the Redmi 10C.
Xiaomi offers the IP52 splash resistance rating with the Redmi 12C which is not anything special.
The phone comes with MIUI 13 in built.

The 4+64GB variant costs 699 yuan ($101.34) in China.
The 4+128GB variant launched at 799 yuan ($115.83) and the top 6+128GB will cost 899 yuan ($130.33).
