Honor’s new chip provides Magic 5 phones with strong 5G even in weak signal areas

Huawei was one of the biggest 5G communication companies with leading 5G technology. But after the US ban, their acceleration became slow in terms of developing new technology. But Honor, once a sub-brand of Huawei, recently developed a chip that will make a breakthrough in current 5G technology.

Fang Fei, the president of Honor’s product line confirmed this chip in Weibo. She said that this chip will be very useful for 5G connectivity in smartphones. She also confirmed that the chip will be used in Honor’s upcoming Magic 5 series smartphones. This chip will be officially announced on March 6, Fang Fei said.

According to the information she shared, the chip will be useful for places where the 5G signal is very low. In places such as garages, elevators or subways the 5G signal isn’t that strong. The chip will use an algorithm to greatly improve 5G connectivity in such areas. The chip will improve the antenna performance to capture signals.

Recently Qualcomm announced their new Snapdragon X75 5G modem, promising to provide better 5G connectivity. This modem may be used in Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The smartphone communication technology is now so advanced that we can directly communicate with satellites with a device that fits in our pocket.
